God Hates Murmuring.

In the wilderness the Israelites began to complain and whine about their hardships when the Lord heard it, his anger was kindled and the fire of the Lord burned among them and devoured them. They desired to eat meat. They began to despise the manna the Lord had provided and started desiring what they had in Egypt, not remembering God’s mighty hand of deliverance from their slavery. They longed for the fish in Egypt, the cucumbers, melons, leeks, onions, and garlic.

However, God did provide for them quail for their complain was too much. But the Lord’s punishment remained; He sent a severe plague as they enjoyed the meat.

Miriam and Aaron murmured and spoke against God’s chosen servant Moses for marrying a Cushite woman, and became jealous of him because of his office as a prophet of God. The Lord heard their talk. No one on the face of the earth was as meek as Moses was. God summoned them to the tent of meeting and admonished them for not showing reverence and respect to his servant Moses. The anger of God blazed out against them and Miriam became leprous.

As the body of Christ we should mind what comes out from our mouths. Weigh our words and let them not be full of murmuring and complaining.
Paul admonishes us in Philippians 2:14-16. Do everything readily and cheerfully—no bickering, no second-guessing allowed! Go out into the world uncorrupted, a breath of fresh air in this squalid and polluted society. Provide people with a glimpse of good living and of the living God.
